Why we breed the way we breed.
The kennel ‘vom alten Wolfsblut’ grew out of the wish to breed Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs from our own lines, with suitable genetics and real working will, officially and under the rules of FCI and ÖKV . Internationally we appear as from wolfblood .
For us breeding is responsibility, not volume. We choose pairings with health, character and suitability in mind — and we stay with our puppies and their families long after they leave. Our offspring hold their own ÖKV/FCI breeding approval.
We are regularly present at shows, breed consultations, events and training. We advise honestly — including when the honest answer is: this breed does not suit you.

Breed & character
The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog.
Originally created by crossing the German Shepherd and Carpathian wolf , the breed combines stamina, sharp senses and independence with a close bond to its people.
Exactly that mixture is what makes them special — in the ring, in sport and in front of the camera. And exactly that is why serious breeding includes telling people the truth.
A wolfdog is not a beginner’s dog and not a status symbol. It demands time, consistency and understanding — every day, for twelve to fifteen years.
Before you write
Four things you should know.
Honest advice means we also say no. That is not a bad sign — it is the procedure.
- Time is not negotiableThis breed needs work and company. Anyone out of the house ten hours a day will not get a puppy from us.
- Consistency before severityWolfdogs test rules. They learn fast — the wrong things included. Clear, calm handling achieves more than pressure.
- Official papers are not decorationBreeding approval, health testing and litter inspection under FCI/ÖKV are the baseline, not the bonus.
- We stay reachableSupport does not end when the puppy leaves. We answer questions about rearing, training and health years later too.
Sport & shows
Training belongs to breeding.
We train our dogs to recognised standards — from the companion dog test IBGH to the working dog sport IGP. Training creates the bond, the calm and the reliability our animals are known for.
At international shows we are present across Europe — up to EuroDog and the World Dog Show. What is judged there flows back into the next pairing.

What is a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog?
